    Warranty T&C

    1. DEFINITIONS
      1. Party A: An Bien Trading – Service Joint Stock Company (including its parent company, subsidiary, group companies and affiliate companies)
      2. Party B: Owners and/or purchasers of the Products
      3. Products: Rheem branded water heaters sold in The Socialist Republic of Vietnam by Party A (including Party A’s authorised agents, distributors and/or dealers), including but not limited to the Xwell series tank water heaters, the Classic Plus series tank water heaters, the RTLE series tankless water heaters, the RH 688 series tankless water heaters and the RH 188 series tankless water heaters
      4. Tank Products: the Xwell series tank water heaters and the Classic Plus series tank water heaters
      5. Tankless Products: the RTLE series tankless water heaters, the RH 688 series tankless water heaters and the RH 188 series tankless water heaters
      6. Warranty: The assurancethat the Rheem branded water heater sold by Party A is (1) free from defective material and workmanship, and (2) meets legal, statutory and/or other specifications. The warranty also describes the conditions under, and period during, which Party A will repair, replace, or otherwise compensate for, any defective item.
    2. TERMS OF THE WARRANTY AND EXCLUSIONS
      1. Party A guarantees the Product against defective materials and manufacturing defaults inclusive of parts and labour according to Product’s warranty period. Warranty period commences from date of purchase.
      2. The Warranty period for the Products shall be the earlier of the following:

      3. For the Xwell series, the anode rod must be replaced by Party B between months 57 and 63 from the date of purchase, for the Warranty to remain valid. The original invoice for change of anode rod must be retained and the change of anode rod must be registered on Rheem’s designated website. The anode rod may only be replaced by Party A’s authorised representatives and the replacement anode rod must be an official spare part certified by Party A. Any of the following will render the Warranty null and void:
        1. Failure to replace the anode rod within the stated period;
        2. Replacement by unauthorised third parties;
        3. Replacement of non-official spare parts;
        4. Failure to retain original invoice of change of anode rod; and/or
        5. Failure to register change of anode rod on Rheem’s designated website.
      4. In the event that the serial number of a Product is removed, the Warranty shall immediately be rendered null and void.
      5. Product warranty registration must be duly completed online via Rheem’s designated website within 14 calendar days from the date of purchase. Failure to register the Product on Rheem’s designated website within this period will render the Warranty null and void.
      6. The Warranty confirmation email, original invoice of purchase and original invoice of change of anode rod** must be produced for verification prior to any Warranty servicing by Party A or its authorised representatives. Loss, misplacement, or inaccurate information will immediately render the Warranty null and void.

        ** only applicable to Warranty service requests for Xwell series units being made after 63 months of purchase.

      7. The decision of whether to repair or replace a faulty component or Product shall be at Party A’s sole discretion.
      8. If Party Brequests a call out and Party A’s inspection reveals that the fault is not covered by Party A’s Warranty, Party B shall be responsible for paying Party A’s standard applicable call out charges. Party A’s standard applicable call out charges may vary based on the location and may be changed from time to time. If Party B wishes to have the Product repaired or replaced by Party A nonetheless, that service will be at Party B’s cost.
      9. Where a failed component or tank is replaced under the Party A’sWarranty, the balance of the original Warranty period will remain effective. The replacement will not carry a new or additional Warranty by Party A.
      10. All Products are eligible for 1 tank or chamber replacement. This Warranty will not cover any additional tank or chamber replacement, regardless of the cause.
      11. Where the Product is installed in a position that does not allow safe or ready access, any costs incurred in accessing the Product, including the cost of additional materials handling and/or safety equipment, shall be Party B’s.For avoidance of doubt, the cost of dismantling or removing cupboards, doors, walls or false ceilings and the cost of any special equipment required to bring the Product to floor or ground level or to a serviceable position is not covered by Party A’s warranty; such costs must be borne by Party B.
      12. This Warrantyonly applies to original and genuine Products (and replacement parts) manufactured and/or sold by Party A or its authorised dealers, and which are in their original installed location.
      13. Party A’s Warranty does not cover damage to the Product resulting from:
        1. Accidental damage to the Product or any component (including, but not limited to: (i) Acts of God such as floods, storms, fires, lightning strikes and the like; and (ii) third party acts or omissions);
        2. Misuse or abnormal use of the Product or any use of the Product beyond the purpose for which the Product was manufactured;
        3. Installation and/or use which is not in accordance with the Owner’s Guide and Installation Manual, or in accordance with relevant statutory and local laws, regulations and requirements in The Socialist Republic of Vietnam;
        4. Connection at any time to a water supply that does not comply with the water supply guidelines as outlined in the Owner’s Guide and Installation Manual;
        5. Repairs, attempts to repair or modifications to the Product by a person other than Party A or Party A’s authorised personnel;
        6. Faulty plumbing or faulty power supply;
        7. Dry fire as a result of insufficient water in the tank or chamber;
        8. Defects caused by abnormal voltage or in-coming power supply from a generator;
        9. Defects caused by household pests such as lizard, rat, cockroach, etc;
        10. Defects caused by chemical reactions, excessive heat, excessive dust, corrosive surroundings, such as cement factory, animal farm, etc;
        11. Components parts which require replacement in the ordinary course of use due to normal wear and tear by reasons of their characteristics, including accessories;
        12. External appearance parts which include cabinet and joints against damages, scratches and ageing;
        13. Failure to maintain the Product in accordance with the Owner’s Guide and Installation Manual;
        14. Transport damage;
        15. Fair wear and tear;
        16. Damage to spare parts and accessories; and/or
        17. Cosmetic defects.
      14. Subject to any statutory provisions laws or regulations to the contrary, this Warranty excludes any and all claims for damage to furniture, carpet, walls, foundations or any other consequential loss either directly or indirectly due to leakage from the Product, or due to leakage from fittings and/ or pipe work of metal, plastic or other materials caused by water temperature, workmanship or other modes of failure.
      15. To the extent allowed by applicable law, Party A and its authorised personnel shall also not be responsible for any damage to property whatsoever or injury to persons (including death) which may arise as a result of performing the Warranty service. This shall be the case even in the event of negligence or gross negligence on the part of Party A and its authorised personnel.
      16. If the Product is not sized to supply the hot water demand in accordance with the guidelines in Party A’s literature, any resultant fault will not be covered by Party A’s Warranty.
      17. For avoidance of doubt, this Warranty applies only to Products sold and installed in The Socialist Republic of Vietnam.
    3. SUPERSEDENCE OF WARRANTY
      1. If a subsequent version of Warranty terms is published, the terms of that Warranty will apply to Products manufactured after the date specified in that subsequent version.
    4. ENTITLEMENT TO MAKE A CLAIM UNDER THIS WARRANTY
      1. To be entitled to make a claim under this Warranty, Party Bneeds to:
        1. Register the Product on Rheem’s designated website within 14 calendar days from the date of purchase;
        2. Be the owner of the Product or have written consent of the owner of the Product to act on their behalf;
        3. Contact Party Awithout undue delay after detection of the defect and, in any event, within the applicable Warranty period; and/or
        4. Provide the Warranty confirmation email, original invoice of purchase and original invoice for change of anode rod**.

          ** only applicable to Warranty service requests for Xwell series units being made after 63 months of purchase.

      2. Party Bis not entitled to make a claim under this Warranty if the Product:
        1. Does not have its original serial number and/or rating label;
        2. Is installed outside The Socialist Republic of Vietnam; and/or
        3. Is not installed by a licensed plumbing company.
    5. HOW TO MAKE A CLAIM UNDER THIS WARRANTY
      1. If Party B wishes to make a claim under this Warranty, Party B needs to:
        1. Contact Party A and provide owner’s details, address of the Product, serial number, a contact number and date of installation of the Product (together with proof of date of purchase).
        2. Party A will arrange for the Product to be tested and assessed on-site.
        3. If Party A determines that Party B has a valid Warranty claim, Party A will repair or replace the Product in accordance with this Warranty.
      2. Any expenses incurred in the making of a claim under this Warranty will be borne by Party B.
    6. CONSENT
      1. By submitting the necessary Warranty information to Party A, Party B consents to Party A’s data policies and provides its consent for the collection, use and storage of its data for the purpose of providing the Warranty on the Product.
      2. Please note that the data provided may be shared with Party A’s business partners for the purposes of servicing any Warranty claims.
      3. Party B confirms that all data submitted is accurate, and further acknowledges that any inaccurate data submitted will immediately render any applicable Warranty null and void.
